Experience the Bliss of a European Rose Mud Wrap

A body wrap of any type is similar to the facial mask applied during a facial – only it covers the whole body. Body wraps are, in fact, sometimes called body masks. Depending on the products used, body wraps can help slim, hydrate, and/or detoxify the client. A European Rose Mud Wrap is an example of a detox wrap. The minerals in the mud stimulate the client’s circulation, provide their body with missing minerals, and draw out impurities. A mud wrap can also help hydrate the client’s skin.

What Happens During a Mud Wrap?

Body wraps often take place in wet rooms that have a shower. The client will lie on the materials in which they will be eventually wrapped, like plastic or towels. To ensure that the client gets the most out of their mud wrap, the aesthetician may perform some type of exfoliation to remove the dead skin cells. Possible techniques include a body scrub or body polish.

A massage therapist will often apply the mud, and they will use massage techniques while doing so. The therapist will then wrap the client to keep them warm, and the client will have to lie still for around twenty minutes. When the time is up, the therapist will undo the wrappings. After the client has dried off, the therapist may apply some lotion to help the client’s skin stay hydrated.

What is the European Rose Mud Wrap?

The European Rose Mud Wrap is designed mainly to hydrate the client. It is particularly helpful for people with aged, weathered, or delicate skin. The mud used contains rose clay from the Provence region of France.

Rose clay is a kaolin clay, which simply means that is made largely of a mineral called kaolinite. Rose clay gets its name from its pink color. Most clays are used to treat oily skin because they strongly absorb the body’s oils. Rose clay is far gentler and can be used on clients with sensitive and/or dry skin. It helps detox the body by drawing impurities to the skin’s surface where they can then be washed away.

Who Is a Good Candidate For the European Rose Mud Wrap?

Practically any client in overall good health and with realistic expectations is a good candidate for the European Rose Mud Wrap. It is not, however, recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing. People undergoing chemotherapy or who are being treated for conditions like kidney failure, cancer, HIV, hepatitis, or edema are not good candidates. People being treated for other conditions need to check with their doctor before getting a European Rose Mud Wrap.
